- Hole in the Paint -Alaska was beaten badly at the paint, 26-54 disparity. Greg(12pts 14rebs), Japeth(20pts 8rebs), and even Mamaril(8pts 10 rebs) were having a party down there. On the contrary Manuel(4pts 1/8FG), Sonny(4pts 1/5FG). Considering that Sonny is the main center of Alaska... *smh* Okay so Sonny might still not be fully recovered from his recent injury but WHEN will he be a factor again? Playoffs is coming. They were out rebounded too,46-52. This is the time you'll miss Gabby Espinas.
- Cold Cyrus -He tallied only 7pts on 2/10 shooting and 3TOs,2 of those he committed in the 3rd quarter when Ginebra was making a run. Cyrus is really the big disappointment this conference. Averaging just 8.7PPG in just 28% shooting. That's sub par on what he is capable of. Again playoffs is coming we can't have both Sonny and Cyrus playing like sh*t. We need them to take over.
- No D and No O -late in 3rd quarter when Ginebra suddenly took the momentum and the lead, they can't stop the surging Gins and the worst part was they can't also score. The coaching staff should address this. If Calvin was not on the floor coach Compton should use Ping Exciminiano and Rome dela Rosa to maintain the energy in defense. No D and O? That's trouble.
Extra Factor why they lost: The fans who ignited LA to play like a man on a mission. Scoring 22pts and 5asts. Also dropping 4 treys!
Good Signs:
- JVee is consistent recently. Last night he scored 18pts and 4 treys. He should keep playing like this in the playoffs.
- Calvin Abueva with another double double 24pts 14rebs 5asts.
