Alaska Wait Lang!

Abueva: Makapag-BEAST mode na nga. ðŸ˜¡

SMB's Suki Card

Hello Alaska Aces!!

                                                     love,
                                                     SMB

Tatum's Hype is going down?

Jayson Tatum started the 2018-2019 regular season with a bang! Averaging a double double, 21PPG 10.7RPG, on the Celtics first three games. Some says before the regular season started that the sophomore is overrated. ESPN includes Jayson Tatum in their top 50 NBA rankings. Which he did proved the haters wrong by playing like the Celtics franchise player in the early games. Especially with Kyrie struggling offensively.

Heartbreak 2.0 Against SMB!

That's it! We got SWEPT in the Finals. Ouch! *insert crying emoticon* Bago mag start ang Game 4 nagdasal ako kahit isang panalo lang against SMB. But damn it! walang patawad SMB. HAHA! They were so dominant all series long. I don't even see a flaw on them, specially in their offense. Goodness gracious! How can you defend the team who have Junemar(the back to back MVP) in the middle and surrounded by 4 shooters. Plus AZ Reid was playing like a man-on-a-mission, nobody in Alaska can contain him 1-on-1 not even Romeo Travis.

Here's Game 2 Story

Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it! Alex Compton blew it!

LOL but really SMB is  just too deep. Too many offensive weapons. From the inside and out. Compton was outcoached again. Compton was outcoached again. Compton was outcoached again.Compton was outcoached again.

Can Alaska come back in the series? Of course they can! Now it depends on Alex Compton really.

Alaska Fell To Mighty SMB

San Miguel Beermen took game 1. Overpowering Alaska,108-78. Beermen basically control the game. Alaska Aces couldn't break the 10-point lead barrier of the Beermen. Damn it! No comeback win this time.

What went wrong:

  • Can't Handle the Ball -They had only 12 TOs but most of it was committed in the 1st half where SMB build their lead, that set the tone for them. SMB had 10 TOs but Alaska failed to convert it to points. They were shooting awful(35%) all game. SMB with 16-2 advantage in points off TOs.
  • Two are Worse Than One -Matchup problem with AZ(32pts) and Junemar(18pts). They put smaller man on AZ Reid but problem is he knows how to play down low too. It was very evident in this game Calvin can't guard Reid at the post. Even Travis can't stop him. Kung noong All Filipino Cup ay si Junemar lang problema sa paint ngayon may AZ pa.
  • No Spice in D -The full court pressure defense was absent. That's why the advantage of SMB was on display all game. They had the luxury to set their halfcourt plays well. And go to the mismatch, which is in the inside. SMB with 28-36 advantage in the paint. Alaska failed to pressure the backcourt to delay the offense of SMB.
  • Where's Romeo -Romeo Travis with only 2 points in the WHOLE first half. Struggling to make his jumpshots in the 2nd half I thought he will be more aggressive but no,he was still settling for outside shots. No energy and hustle in this game! He was totally outplayed by his counterpart, AZ Reid.
To Do List:
  • Compton have to implement the full-court pressure defense. It will delay the offense of SMB. If they did that the offense will follow.
  • Romeo Travis have to wake up and get out of his shell. Play aggressive! If your midrange J is not working find other way to score. Be aggressive!
  • Alaska needs either JVee or Banchero to play good and call plays for the team. The offense in Game 1 was awful. Completely in disarray. If the offense is in good flow they will commit less turnovers.

Never Forget

This is it! Alaska and SMB meet again in the Finals! It's payback/redemption/revenge time! What a way to end the season for PBA fans. This is gonna be an explosive Finals series for sure. Two of the most winningest teams in the PBA. They battle it out in 7 games last All-Filipino Cup.

Of course as an Aces fan I'll never forget...

  • How every game it's Calvin Abueva against the whole SMB team. Calvin always gets in their nerves. When Calvin is on the floor expects PHYSICALITY meter is up high. I wonder if Calvin will get more minutes now which is he don't usually get this conference.

  • How they manage to get back in game 7. After being down by,I think, 22 points. But failed to snatch the win successfully because they MISSED their freethrows! I'll never forget that. It was like answering "1 plus 1" and didn't get the right answer. lol

  • And of course who can forget that f**k*ng 3 pointer of Arwind Santos to seal the championship for SMB! That was the moment I will never ever forget. (Kingna nakachamba eh! lol) It was like a girl you love the most broke up with you and the next day she found new right away. uhh.
I want the Alaska players never forget those moments. Never forget how CLOSE they were to win the 15th championship of the team last All-Filipino Cup. Never forget!

I am positive that they can and they will win this time. They are stronger together now! Let's do this!

Stronger Together

Back in the Finals! This time is sweeter because they eliminated Ginebra in the Quarterfinals(hihi you know the history) and swept Tim Cone's Star Hotshots in the semis,in a best-of-5 series...And that's a great achievement for Alex Compton. Beating the best in the business and did it without giving a win to the opponent. He is the catalyst and the genius behind the team.

Alaska Aces Took Game 1!

Alaska Aces draws first blood in the semifinals series against Rain or Shine,Aces is now leading 1-0. They barely beaten Rain or Shine Elasto Painters,80-87. Thanks to their tremendous run in the 2nd half and suffocating defense. Rain or Shine was leading as much as 17 points in the 1st half.
