Stronger Together

Back in the Finals! This time is sweeter because they eliminated Ginebra in the Quarterfinals(hihi you know the history) and swept Tim Cone's Star Hotshots in the semis,in a best-of-5 series...And that's a great achievement for Alex Compton. Beating the best in the business and did it without giving a win to the opponent. He is the catalyst and the genius behind the team.


Right from the tip-off of this conference Alaska was different. They started strong. They played as a TEAM. No superstar. No specific local player who average 18 or 20+ points a game. Banchero barely made it in double figures(10.8PPG). No local players logging 30+mins. a game. Yet they were successful so far.. It is very fitting in their #WeNotMe battle cry. It is like Coach Yeng influenced Compton,in terms of player's rotation, but he injected DEFENSE in Alaska too. I think that is the most critical element that Alex Compton gave to Alaska. Defense will give you championships..Uhh remembering the Game 7 of Alaska-SMB in All Filipino Cup hmm FREETHROWS can give you championships too. lol

Calvin is not at his best right now,maybe because of the minutes he is getting(16.2min per game),but the team is winning. It's all good. Rome dela Rosa is the revelation this conference. Finally, finally!!! Alex Compton got tired of TDLC. lol The guy can surely play defense and he can score too. Given the chance he can be a really good player.

Chris Banchero leads the team in points and assists this conference(local players). Consistently playing good this conference. When JVee was struggling he took command. 

And of course Romeo Travis! He fits in the system. He don't average 30+pts. a game and grab 20+rebs. a game. He is playing the system of Alaska,which is TEAM play. And he made a promise..

So yea we are back in the Finals(hopefully against SMB for sweet revenge). And Alaska Aces is not done yet. The championship is the ultimate goal! Let's do it! We are stronger together!
