Alaska Stumbled on the Furious Gins!

What went wrong:

  • Hole in the Paint -Alaska was beaten badly at the paint, 26-54 disparity. Greg(12pts 14rebs), Japeth(20pts 8rebs), and even Mamaril(8pts 10 rebs) were having a party down there. On the contrary Manuel(4pts 1/8FG), Sonny(4pts 1/5FG). Considering that Sonny is the main center of Alaska... *smh* Okay so Sonny might still not be fully recovered from his recent injury but WHEN will he be a factor again? Playoffs is coming. They were out rebounded too,46-52. This is the time you'll miss Gabby Espinas.

Alaska Aces PRE-GAME against Ginebra

Whenever Alaska is set to battle Barangay Ginebra the fans are ecstatic about it. You'll know that it will be a hell of a game. Alaska seems to have Ginebra's number especially last year when Alaska swept them in the finals in an import laden conference. For sure Ginebra is very eager to win against Alaska, add the fact that they were on a losing skid and battling for a better positioning in the playoffs. It's a must win also for Alaska to stay on top and secure the automatic semis.

The BEAST Game of Calvin Abueva

Last season Calvin was struggling, though maybe it was because Luigi Trillo gave him limited playing time. He found it hard playing through the system(triangle offense), he can't maximize his strength with it. Nung rookie year niya siya ang namimikon sa kalaban pero last season siya na ang napipikon with extracurricular activities pa. He can't control his intensity in defense kaya laging foul trouble. From MVP candidate to unnoticeable in his sophomore year. That was a forgettable year for Calvin. Critics said his rookie year was just a fluke, a flop(which he's known for). I myself doubted him if he is for real. I even fantasized trading him for someone else...before the season starts I still have doubts but things change.

Most Valuable Fans

Gilas Pilipinas was named the MVF Best Country Award by FIBA. They witnessed how passionate we were in basketball. After tough losses against the heavily favorites Croatia,Argentina, and Puerto Rico they gave us justice by beating Senegal in their last game of the preliminary. That win against Senegal, even if it was a non-bearing game, we celebrated it like a championship game. First win after 36 long years!

Certainly WE are the best fans in the world!
